Happy Anniversary, Anthony!

Today is my 7th wedding anniversary! It's hard to believe that Anthony and I have been married for 7 years. It seems like only yesterday we had just met and started dating. Now, we have a handsome 4 year old son and another baby on the way! God has blessed us so much over these past 7 years and we are truly thankful. I love you, Anthony! Happy Anniversary!

What a week!

Well, last week was a rough week for me to say the least! I hadn't felt good and went to the doctor on Wednesday. The doctor told me that I was dehydrated and sent me straight to the hospital for fluids. That was about 10 am. 4.5 IV bags of fluid and 9 hours later, I got to go home. I felt a little better, but not terrific. I still haven't felt great since. I go back to the doctor today for a follow-up, so I hope I'm still doing okay. Please keep me in your prayers. I really need them!

From Three to Four

For those of you who haven't already heard, I am expecting a baby! We are due February 22, 2010. Caleb is going to be a Big Brother! He is very excited and insists that he wants a baby brother. We have tried to tell him that it could be a baby sister, but he will have none of that. My mom and Grandma really want a girl as my brother has 2 boys and my cousin has a boy, so they feel we are due for a girl in the family! I will post ultrasound pictures when I can get to a scanner. We had our first doctor appointment on Thursday last week and was able to see the heartbeat! What an amazing thing! I have to go back to the doctor on Wednesday for a head-to-toe pregnancy physical but then after that it will be monthly visits for a while.

We are excited, yet nervous! Caleb and this baby will be 5 years apart. While that's further apart than I wanted to have them, this is God's timing, so all is well.

This pregnancy has already been a lot different than when I was pregnant with Caleb. I stay nauseous all the time - which is not fun. Nothing tastes good right now. I hope and pray that the nausea does not last the entire nine months! I don't know that I can handle that.

I ask that you continue to remember us in your prayers. We're going to need it as we learn to adjust to being a family of four instead of three.

Caleb's Request to God

So, yesterday as I'm trying to get everything together to get Caleb out the door to daycare, we have the following conversation:

Caleb: Mommy, where's God and Jesus?

Me: In Heaven

Caleb: Well, how is God going to give me my baby brother and baby sister from Heaven?

Me: When God wants Mommy and Daddy to have another baby, He will put a baby in Mommy's belly.

Caleb: I want to ask God to give us a baby brother and a baby sister. How do I do that?

Me: You have to pray to God to ask him for the things you NEED.

So, Caleb gets down on his knees in the floor in front of the door and looks to Heaven. He then said, Mommy, you have to help me. I don't know how to pray.

Okay, so my 4 year old son wants me to help him pray for a brother and a sister. I'm not really sure what to think at this moment, so I help him with his request.

Me (with Caleb repeating after me word for word): Dear God, I would like to have a baby brother and a baby sister, if that's okay with you. Amen.

I guess now we'll have to wait and see if God answers Caleb's request. Hopefully, it will only be for either a brother OR a sister and not both at once!

Where has the time gone?!

Ok. So, I just realized it's been like 2 weeks since I posted. I apologize for this. I've been working 12 hour days at work and trying to get ready for VBS at church next week, so I've been a little busy! I didn't even get to buy Father's Day cards for our dads this year. It's been a crazy two weeks. As soon as I have more than five minutes, I'll post an update. Thanks for being patient!
