Latest Update on Lydia

I went to the doctor yesterday for my 35 week check-up. I had an ultrasound to make sure that Lydia is head down. She is, which is good. That means she's getting ready to make her entrance into this world. The ultrasound tech also said she has lots of hair on the back of her head! We could see it sticking out on the screen. She has really chubby cheeks and a big nose! She looks like she's going to be bigger than Caleb was. She's sooo cute! I'll post a picture as soon as I can get it scanned.

I also had to have the Group B Strep test at this appointment. I'll spare the details, but it is not a fun test. I should get the results of it next week when I go back for my next appointment. I tested positive for the Group B Strep with Caleb and it meant an automatic 2 day stay in the hospital. I asked the nurse what the odds were for testing positive again and she said they were really good. So, I'm planning for another positive test and 2 day stay. If the results are negative, then great!

We took Caleb to his sibling preparation class last week and got the hospital tour. They've remodeled everything since I had Caleb so it looks so much nicer than it did. Caleb had a great time at the class. He was so cute listening to the nurse tell him what all mommy was going to do and where she was going to be.

The hospital has put restrictions on visitors due to the flu season. No one under the age of 14 (with the exception of siblings) is allowed to come visit. So, that means our siblings, niece and nephews and some friends with children will have to wait to come see us at home unless they come without the children. Either way is okay I guess, I just know that some wanted to be a part of our day and come to the hospital.

So, we're down to basically 4 weeks. If I go anytime after I hit 37 weeks, which will be the first week in February, they will not stop my labor. Let's just hope we can get past Caleb's birthday so Lydia can arrive on a day all her own!

6 Weeks to Go!

Pregnancy Glitter Graphics from dolliecrave.com

Today marks the 6 weeks remaining point in this pregnancy! It's hard to believe that after all this, Lydia will be here in 6 weeks or less! I am so ready for her to get here. I'm getting tired of being pregnant (it's been a rough pregnancy) and am just ready to see her and find out what she looks like. Caleb is getting even more excited to be a Big Brother. We're taking him tomorrow to a sibling preparation class. I'm interested to see how he reacts to learning how to help Mommy and Daddy care for a baby.

I go back to the doctor on January 20th for an ultrasound to make sure Lydia is head down. From there, I begin going to the doctor weekly to check in on her.

Please keep us in your prayers! It's just been the three of us for so long, we will all have some adjusting to do when we become a family of four!

Merry Christmas!

Well, the pregnancy insomnia has me up at 5 am on Christmas morning! The boys are still asleep and Santa has already been here. I am patiently waiting to hear little feet come running down the hall. Last year, we had to wake Caleb up to see what was under the tree, so we may have to do the same again this year.

We are so blessed. Not only do we have the material things that we NEED, but we have some that we want, too. The Lord has blessed us unconditionally and more than we deserve.

I will post some pictures of all our Christmas activities when we get home tonight. We had Christmas with my mom and dad, brother, sis-in-law, nephews and Grandma last night. It'll be Christmas with Anthony's parents, sister and her family today.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

A star is born!

Caleb was a star in the Christmas play at Anthony's mom and dad's church. I think he's just adorable!

Christmas Is Almost Here!

There's only a couple of weeks left until Christmas is here. Where has the time gone? Christmas used to take forever to come when I was a kid. Now, it seems like I turn around twice and here it is!

I can imagine what Christmas must have been like for our parents when we were younger. To watch us as we would get excited opening our presents or about Santa Claus or the season in general. Caleb loves this season! He is so excited for Santa Claus to come. I love to watch his excitement grow as we get closer to the big day. He gets so excited when we drive by a house decorated with lights or a manger scene. He literally screamed at me one night in the car, "Mom, I see the Baby Jesus!" I'm so thankful that he knows who the Baby Jesus is and what he did for us.

His excitement for now has moved from being a big brother to getting presnts. I can't blame him! This will be his last Christmas as an only child. The last Christmas where he gets all the gifts to himself. I'd be excited, too!

As for the pregnancy, everything is going great. We have 10 weeks to go. I have started going to the doctor every 2 weeks now that we have made it to the third trimester. For those of you that don't know, our baby girl is going to be named Lydia Love Morgan. We have her nursery ready to go and are now just waiting for her to arrive! We're getting to the point where we are very anxious to see her, but we know she has to stay in there to grow until she's ready to come out. I'm not sure what we're going to do with a little girl in the house. Everything's been all boy stuff for the last 4 years. I guess we'll find out soon enough!
