Only 3 weeks to go!

I will be 37 weeks on Monday, 2/1/2010!  I went to the doctor yesterday for my 36 week appt.  I tested negative for the Group B Strep, but the doctor said she would probably treat me for it anyway since I had it with Caleb.  So, it will be an automatic 2 day stay in the hospital when Lydia arrives.  I told the doctor how bad I was feeling and that I was over this pregnancy.  She took some blood and I am anemic.  So, I now get to take iron pills twice a day.  She also gave me something to help me sleep at night.  Then, she checked me and I am dialated to 3 cm!  Progress!  Because I felt so bad, she did a non-stress test and an ultrasound on Lydia.  Lydia is doing great.  She measures right where she should be and the ultrasound tech estimated her weight to be 6 lbs 8 oz as of right now.  With a few more weeks to grow, she'll probably weigh more than Caleb did when he was born!  The doctor told me she would pray for me to go early and told me it was okay to ask everyone else to do the same.  So, please, please, please pray that Lydia will decide to arrive early!  I just can't take it anymore!

Latest Update on Lydia

I went to the doctor yesterday for my 35 week check-up. I had an ultrasound to make sure that Lydia is head down. She is, which is good. That means she's getting ready to make her entrance into this world. The ultrasound tech also said she has lots of hair on the back of her head! We could see it sticking out on the screen. She has really chubby cheeks and a big nose! She looks like she's going to be bigger than Caleb was. She's sooo cute! I'll post a picture as soon as I can get it scanned.

I also had to have the Group B Strep test at this appointment. I'll spare the details, but it is not a fun test. I should get the results of it next week when I go back for my next appointment. I tested positive for the Group B Strep with Caleb and it meant an automatic 2 day stay in the hospital. I asked the nurse what the odds were for testing positive again and she said they were really good. So, I'm planning for another positive test and 2 day stay. If the results are negative, then great!

We took Caleb to his sibling preparation class last week and got the hospital tour. They've remodeled everything since I had Caleb so it looks so much nicer than it did. Caleb had a great time at the class. He was so cute listening to the nurse tell him what all mommy was going to do and where she was going to be.

The hospital has put restrictions on visitors due to the flu season. No one under the age of 14 (with the exception of siblings) is allowed to come visit. So, that means our siblings, niece and nephews and some friends with children will have to wait to come see us at home unless they come without the children. Either way is okay I guess, I just know that some wanted to be a part of our day and come to the hospital.

So, we're down to basically 4 weeks. If I go anytime after I hit 37 weeks, which will be the first week in February, they will not stop my labor. Let's just hope we can get past Caleb's birthday so Lydia can arrive on a day all her own!

6 Weeks to Go!

Pregnancy Glitter Graphics from dolliecrave.com

Today marks the 6 weeks remaining point in this pregnancy! It's hard to believe that after all this, Lydia will be here in 6 weeks or less! I am so ready for her to get here. I'm getting tired of being pregnant (it's been a rough pregnancy) and am just ready to see her and find out what she looks like. Caleb is getting even more excited to be a Big Brother. We're taking him tomorrow to a sibling preparation class. I'm interested to see how he reacts to learning how to help Mommy and Daddy care for a baby.

I go back to the doctor on January 20th for an ultrasound to make sure Lydia is head down. From there, I begin going to the doctor weekly to check in on her.

Please keep us in your prayers! It's just been the three of us for so long, we will all have some adjusting to do when we become a family of four!
