Caleb's Request to God

So, yesterday as I'm trying to get everything together to get Caleb out the door to daycare, we have the following conversation:

Caleb: Mommy, where's God and Jesus?

Me: In Heaven

Caleb: Well, how is God going to give me my baby brother and baby sister from Heaven?

Me: When God wants Mommy and Daddy to have another baby, He will put a baby in Mommy's belly.

Caleb: I want to ask God to give us a baby brother and a baby sister. How do I do that?

Me: You have to pray to God to ask him for the things you NEED.

So, Caleb gets down on his knees in the floor in front of the door and looks to Heaven. He then said, Mommy, you have to help me. I don't know how to pray.

Okay, so my 4 year old son wants me to help him pray for a brother and a sister. I'm not really sure what to think at this moment, so I help him with his request.

Me (with Caleb repeating after me word for word): Dear God, I would like to have a baby brother and a baby sister, if that's okay with you. Amen.

I guess now we'll have to wait and see if God answers Caleb's request. Hopefully, it will only be for either a brother OR a sister and not both at once!

Where has the time gone?!

Ok. So, I just realized it's been like 2 weeks since I posted. I apologize for this. I've been working 12 hour days at work and trying to get ready for VBS at church next week, so I've been a little busy! I didn't even get to buy Father's Day cards for our dads this year. It's been a crazy two weeks. As soon as I have more than five minutes, I'll post an update. Thanks for being patient!

A Dinner Prayer

We went out to dinner tonight and asked Caleb to say the blessing. He normally does a little song that goes like this:
God, our Father
God, our Father
Once again
Once again
Thank you for our blessings
Thank you for our blessings
Amen
Amen
However, tonight he surprised us and actually prayed a prayer to God. While he forgot to ask God to bless the food, he did ask God to help make his boo-boos feel better and his daddy's boo-boos to feel better. He apparently did not feel the need to ask God to help Mommy with anything. =)
I was so proud of my little boy. It made me feel like we, as parents, are doing something right. He has learned to pray and ask God to help with the concerns of his heart. I wish others could have heard him. It was so sweet to hear Caleb saying that prayer.
