Merry Christmas!

Well, the pregnancy insomnia has me up at 5 am on Christmas morning! The boys are still asleep and Santa has already been here. I am patiently waiting to hear little feet come running down the hall. Last year, we had to wake Caleb up to see what was under the tree, so we may have to do the same again this year.

We are so blessed. Not only do we have the material things that we NEED, but we have some that we want, too. The Lord has blessed us unconditionally and more than we deserve.

I will post some pictures of all our Christmas activities when we get home tonight. We had Christmas with my mom and dad, brother, sis-in-law, nephews and Grandma last night. It'll be Christmas with Anthony's parents, sister and her family today.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

A star is born!

Caleb was a star in the Christmas play at Anthony's mom and dad's church. I think he's just adorable!

Christmas Is Almost Here!

There's only a couple of weeks left until Christmas is here. Where has the time gone? Christmas used to take forever to come when I was a kid. Now, it seems like I turn around twice and here it is!

I can imagine what Christmas must have been like for our parents when we were younger. To watch us as we would get excited opening our presents or about Santa Claus or the season in general. Caleb loves this season! He is so excited for Santa Claus to come. I love to watch his excitement grow as we get closer to the big day. He gets so excited when we drive by a house decorated with lights or a manger scene. He literally screamed at me one night in the car, "Mom, I see the Baby Jesus!" I'm so thankful that he knows who the Baby Jesus is and what he did for us.

His excitement for now has moved from being a big brother to getting presnts. I can't blame him! This will be his last Christmas as an only child. The last Christmas where he gets all the gifts to himself. I'd be excited, too!

As for the pregnancy, everything is going great. We have 10 weeks to go. I have started going to the doctor every 2 weeks now that we have made it to the third trimester. For those of you that don't know, our baby girl is going to be named Lydia Love Morgan. We have her nursery ready to go and are now just waiting for her to arrive! We're getting to the point where we are very anxious to see her, but we know she has to stay in there to grow until she's ready to come out. I'm not sure what we're going to do with a little girl in the house. Everything's been all boy stuff for the last 4 years. I guess we'll find out soon enough!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have so much to be thankful for! Most of all, I am thankful for my salvation. I have a husband who loves me unconditionally, a son who tells me I'm a good mommy, a baby girl on the way who constantly reminds me that she's there with a good swift kick to the ribs! I have a wonderful extended family, too! I am thankful to have a job, even though I complain about it sometimes. God has provided what we need.

I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and that you will take the time to be truly thankful for your blessings in life.

Halloween Pictures

I finally got the few pictures we took on computer so I can share them. Sorry! I'm a little slow sometimes. (No comments, please)

What a week!

This past week has been a rough one! We found out on Thursday that a dear friend of ours, whom Anthony and I both worked with at Ruby Tuesday, passed away unexpectedly. She was only 39 years old and was such a sweet person. She will be missed. Please keep her family in your prayers. Then, we found out on Friday one of the members of the church Anthony pastored had also passed away. She had been in a nursing home for some time, but was such a wonderful person. She has gone on to be with the Lord and I know she couldn't be happier right now.

We had a family reunion this weekend, too. It's always good to get to see the family, especially those that don't live nearby. We had a good time catching up and watching the UT vs Bama game. The only thing that would have made it better is if UT could have pulled out the win!

Then, we received news today that a family member has received some bad news concerning his health. I'm not going into the details as I don't know that he would want that. Please just remember him in your prayers. He possibly has a rough road ahead, but we know that if it's God's will, he'll come through everything just fine.

So, hopefully, the rest of this week will get better. Halloween is on Saturday and as of now, Caleb wants to be Batman. He likes to change his mind, so we'll see what he actually ends up being. I'll try to post pictures Saturday after we get ready.

I think that's about all for now!

Ultrasound Results

graphics for moms

We had our 20 week ultrasound today and discovered that we are having a little girl! Everyone is very excited to welcome her to the family. She is measuring right on target for where she should be in the pregnancy.

Pictures of our precious little girl will be posted as soon as I can get them scanned.

Vacation Photos

So, we got back on Saturday the 19th from our vacation in Fort Myers Beach, FL. While it was a MUCH needed vacation, we are happy to be back home. Here are a few pictures of our trip. I'll try to post some more over the next few days.

Vacation here we come!

We leave early Saturday morning to fly to Fort Myers Beach, FL for our much needed vacation. I'll try to post while we're gone, but if not, I'll have lots of pictures when we get back. Caleb is very excited to be flying on an airplane, so hopefully the excitement will keep him out of trouble. I can just see us having to chase him through the airport because he thought it would be funny to run away. He's mischievious like that sometimes! Hopefully, we won't have any hurricanes hit while we're there either!

Happy Birthday to me!

Since it is my birthday today and no one else in the house has wished me a happy birthday, yet, I thought I would say it to myself! I am now officially 29 years old. With us having 2 church services today, we won't be able to celebrate much, so maybe we can do something special when we go on vacation in a couple of weeks. As long as Anthony and Caleb tell me they love me, I'll have everything I need for my birthday!

Dr. Visit Update

****Edited to correct the date of the ultrasound. It's October 7th, not the 6th. I guess we'll just have to wait one more day.****

So, I had to go back to the doctor today to follow up on the dehydration issue. I am good to go! I did not have any ketones in my urine (sorry if TMI!) so I am not at risk to become dehydrated again at this time. I still have to keep a check on it, but for now I'm good. I do have to go back in 2 weeks to make sure I am still gaining weight. I gained 5 pounds over the last 2 weeks. Then, 6 weeks from today on October 6th, we will find out the sex of this little bean! As I have already stated before, lots of folks are thinking girl, so we'll see. If it is a girl, she'll be spoiled rotten by my family as she'll be the first granddaughter for my parents and the first great-granddaughter for my Grandma. So, let the countdown begin!

Exciting Times Ahead!

We have a few exciting things coming up in the next month or so.

My birthday is coming up on the 30th. I'll be 29. This will be my last year in my 20s. People have asked me if it bothers me that I'll be 30. Absolutely not! What's the big deal? Age is just a number. I'm thankful that the Lord has let me live this long, so I will gladly celebrate!

We are going on a much deserved/needed vacation 3 weeks from today! We're very excited and are ready for a break. We're going to Fort Myers Beach, FL. We have decided to fly down there so this should be an interesting trip as Caleb and Anthony have never flown before. Hopefully, they won't freak out on me while in the air.

While we're there, we're going to drive up to Tampa and go to Busch Gardens. We've never been there, but think Caleb would enjoy seeing the animals and stuff. I plan on taking lots of pictures and will post them for all to see once we get back.

After we get back from vacation, we should be scheduling our appointment to find out the sex of the baby! I'm very excited to find out what this little stinker is! Everyone seems to think it's a girl, so we'll see if they're all right!

Ultrasound Pictures

I had another doctor's appointment on Wednesday of this week and they did an ultrasound. I took my mom with me because Anthony couldn't get off work to go. We heard the heartbeat, which was 160 beats per minute. The baby measured 5.5cm long and is looking good! I can't wait until the ultrasound where we find out the sex!

Could this be the end?

So, I am now 12 weeks and 2 days pregnant and am wondering if the end of my "all-day sickness" has arrived. I am slowly starting to feel a lot better and am now able to eat more and keep it down. Praise the Lord for that! I was really getting tired of chicken noodle soup and baked potatoes!

I have another doctor's appointment today. This is the one where they will do an ultrasound to check for any birth defects. I'm thankful to be able to see the baby again and hope that he/she is doing well. Keep us in your prayers that everything will come back okay.

Pregnancy Update

Today, I am 11 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Almost out of the first trimester! WHOO-HOO! This first trimester has really been a struggle for me. I have not felt well at all during the entire time I've been pregnant. I went back to the doctor on Monday because I was afraid I was getting dehydrated again. She signed me out of work again this week and wants me to rest. She also told me to eat mostly chicken noodle soup (which to have for almost every meal is not fun!), eat popsicles, drink water, etc. So, that's what I am trying to do. I ask for your prayers as I really want to feel better and be able to function.

Happy Anniversary, Anthony!

Today is my 7th wedding anniversary! It's hard to believe that Anthony and I have been married for 7 years. It seems like only yesterday we had just met and started dating. Now, we have a handsome 4 year old son and another baby on the way! God has blessed us so much over these past 7 years and we are truly thankful. I love you, Anthony! Happy Anniversary!

What a week!

Well, last week was a rough week for me to say the least! I hadn't felt good and went to the doctor on Wednesday. The doctor told me that I was dehydrated and sent me straight to the hospital for fluids. That was about 10 am. 4.5 IV bags of fluid and 9 hours later, I got to go home. I felt a little better, but not terrific. I still haven't felt great since. I go back to the doctor today for a follow-up, so I hope I'm still doing okay. Please keep me in your prayers. I really need them!

From Three to Four

For those of you who haven't already heard, I am expecting a baby! We are due February 22, 2010. Caleb is going to be a Big Brother! He is very excited and insists that he wants a baby brother. We have tried to tell him that it could be a baby sister, but he will have none of that. My mom and Grandma really want a girl as my brother has 2 boys and my cousin has a boy, so they feel we are due for a girl in the family! I will post ultrasound pictures when I can get to a scanner. We had our first doctor appointment on Thursday last week and was able to see the heartbeat! What an amazing thing! I have to go back to the doctor on Wednesday for a head-to-toe pregnancy physical but then after that it will be monthly visits for a while.

We are excited, yet nervous! Caleb and this baby will be 5 years apart. While that's further apart than I wanted to have them, this is God's timing, so all is well.

This pregnancy has already been a lot different than when I was pregnant with Caleb. I stay nauseous all the time - which is not fun. Nothing tastes good right now. I hope and pray that the nausea does not last the entire nine months! I don't know that I can handle that.

I ask that you continue to remember us in your prayers. We're going to need it as we learn to adjust to being a family of four instead of three.

Caleb's Request to God

So, yesterday as I'm trying to get everything together to get Caleb out the door to daycare, we have the following conversation:

Caleb: Mommy, where's God and Jesus?

Me: In Heaven

Caleb: Well, how is God going to give me my baby brother and baby sister from Heaven?

Me: When God wants Mommy and Daddy to have another baby, He will put a baby in Mommy's belly.

Caleb: I want to ask God to give us a baby brother and a baby sister. How do I do that?

Me: You have to pray to God to ask him for the things you NEED.

So, Caleb gets down on his knees in the floor in front of the door and looks to Heaven. He then said, Mommy, you have to help me. I don't know how to pray.

Okay, so my 4 year old son wants me to help him pray for a brother and a sister. I'm not really sure what to think at this moment, so I help him with his request.

Me (with Caleb repeating after me word for word): Dear God, I would like to have a baby brother and a baby sister, if that's okay with you. Amen.

I guess now we'll have to wait and see if God answers Caleb's request. Hopefully, it will only be for either a brother OR a sister and not both at once!

Where has the time gone?!

Ok. So, I just realized it's been like 2 weeks since I posted. I apologize for this. I've been working 12 hour days at work and trying to get ready for VBS at church next week, so I've been a little busy! I didn't even get to buy Father's Day cards for our dads this year. It's been a crazy two weeks. As soon as I have more than five minutes, I'll post an update. Thanks for being patient!

A Dinner Prayer

We went out to dinner tonight and asked Caleb to say the blessing. He normally does a little song that goes like this:
God, our Father
God, our Father
Once again
Once again
Thank you for our blessings
Thank you for our blessings
Amen
Amen
However, tonight he surprised us and actually prayed a prayer to God. While he forgot to ask God to bless the food, he did ask God to help make his boo-boos feel better and his daddy's boo-boos to feel better. He apparently did not feel the need to ask God to help Mommy with anything. =)
I was so proud of my little boy. It made me feel like we, as parents, are doing something right. He has learned to pray and ask God to help with the concerns of his heart. I wish others could have heard him. It was so sweet to hear Caleb saying that prayer.

A Look Back....

Today was Anthony's dad's last Sunday as the pastor at our church. He is retiring after 30 years of pastoring. He is still going to preach, just in an evangelistic role. He first came to our church in October of 1999. While this is a bittersweet time for us, it causes me to look back over these last 9 years and give thanks to God for bringing these people into our lives. Had God not sent Rick and Sandra Morgan to our church 9 years ago when we were out of a pastor, then I would not have met my husband and would not be a mother to Caleb. While I'll miss not getting to see them every Sunday and will miss hearing Rick preach, I know that this is what the Lord would have them to do.

An Award for My Blog

My dear friend Teresa Rogers has given me a blog award! Yea! I appreciate that she thought of me when handing out this award.

I will pass this award on to my cousin Kameren (who will always be Kamie to me!), a first time mom to Parker.

While I'm Waiting

If you've seen the movie Fireproof, then you have probably heard the song, "While I'm Waiting." I have heard this song numerous times, but hadn't really listened to the words until I was going through my own situation where the Lord was telling me to wait. This song struck a chord with me and everytime I hear it now, I am reminded of what the Lord is showing me. I think patience is something that we all want more of, but aren't truly willing to wait. I've posted the lyrics to the song below and I hope they have the same effect on you as they have on me.

I'm waiting

I'm waiting on You, Lord, and I am hopeful

I'm waiting on You, Lord, though it is painful

But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident

Taking every step in obedience

While I'm waiting, I will serve You

While I'm waiting, I will worship

While I'm waiting , I will not faint

I'll be running the race

Even while I wait

I'm waiting

I'm waiting on You, Lord, and I am peaceful

I'm waiting on You, Lord, though it's not easy

But faithfully, I will wait

Yes, I will wait

I will serve You, while I'm waiting

I will worship, while I'm waiting

I will serve You, while I'm waiting

I will worship, while I'm waiting

I will serve you, while I'm waiting

I will worship, while I'm waiting on You, Lord

Like Father Like Son

Caleb absolutely loves his daddy and tries to do everything he does. After seeing Anthony shave numerous times, Caleb asked for a razor so he could shave, too. Thankfully, he's never tried to use a real razor. He got a Batman shaving set for Christmas and loves trying it out.

He also loves to dress like his daddy. If Anthony wears a shirt and tie to church, Caleb has to. I must say I have two very handsome boys!

Caleb's Latest Pictures

Each Spring and Fall, Caleb's daycare has the children's pictures made. These have always turned out great. Caleb loves to cheese for the camera, so getting him to smile is easy. I think he looks really cute! He reminds me constantly that he is a "big boy" so I guess I should start saying he looks handsome. He's growing up sooo fast!

Caleb's Easter Suit

This was Caleb's look for Easter Sunday. He always wants to wear a suit like his daddy. I thought he looked very handsome and like a little man. He is not a baby any more and is growing up too fast. It seems like it was not that long ago when we were bringing him home from the hospital, scared to death to be responsible for another person. Now, he's four going on twenty-four. He is such a blessing to us!

Our first post!

Well, I have finally decided to join the blogging world and have created this blog. I've been following blogs of friends for a while now and just couldn't resist doing one of our own. I hope you enjoy following along with our life as I (and hopefully Anthony will post some, too) write about it.
